Synergetic Coatings » TUFRAM®
TUFRAM® is a collective name for a family of coatings in which an aluminum surface is converted in to aluminum oxide Al2O3.H2O. During this process the aluminum crystals grow out to a porous layer that remains hygroscopic for a short time and therefore has optimum adhesive properties.
The water molecules of the newly formed ceramic oxide layer are replaced by embedded polymers. By this means, a very hard self-lubricating ceramic surface is formed in which the polymer particles are integrated.
Tufram can be applied on all aluminum alloys and can be used in various range of markets, like:
- Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic industry
- Food and Beverage
- Packaging Industry
- Medical Equipment
- Aerospace & Defense
- Semiconductor
- Tobacco Industry
