SYNCOAT®

SYNCOATS® are quite similar to NEDOX® and TUFRAM® coatings. The major difference is, that for Syncoats unlicensed polymers are used. This gives AHC Benelux the opportunity to develop customized synergetic coatings.

The base layer of Syncoat is either DURNI-COAT® electroless Nickel, HART-COAT® hard anodizing or a modified base material. The top layer is always a layer of fluoropolymers without any license agreement. These are for example PTFE, PFA or FEP. In many cases, the differences lie in the details. For example, both PFA and PTFE are resistant against temperatures up to 260°C, but has PTFE has the better coefficient of friction. PFA gives a better protection against corrosion.

The cooperation between base-
and toplayer creates outstanding properties, such as:

  • Increases the wear resistance of the basematerial
  • Improves the corrosion resistance of the basematerial
  • Increases the chemical resistance of basematerial
  • Improves the non-stick properties of the basematerial
  • Improves the lubricant properties of the basematerial
  • Reduces the coefficient of friction of the basematerial
